Eco Fun Day

"Today it was OLA’s Eco-fun day. Students from the Shepherd team did fun activities. There was a game called gumboot toss where you had throw a gumboot or a shoe as far as possible, I really enjoyed the game. If you had won the gumboot toss  you got a gold or black bean to plant."

“I really enjoyed Eco Day. My favourite event was Rob the nest. We were the ferrets stealing the kiwi eggs. We thought of this little plan: what if we put the tennis ball under the cone? Unluckily our team's plan was busted by Saul. Benedict house won with 6 balls twice. Our team tried getting there yellow ball but it was like they were attracted to it. We took it and they took it back. In the end we didn’t win but I still got a magic bean. [Bean with spray paint]”

Instructions:
This is how you play: Well  you are put into your house colour teams. Next you wait for someone to say go. When they do you have to run and try to find beans that are hidden in the sand. If you find six beans first, you get to keep a magic bean.
The Story

I dug deep into the sand. “ Where are those beans?!?” I yelled. Finally I pulled out a bean. “ Bullseye!” I said. Again, I dug through the sand  keeping a close eye on anything beany looking. Suddenly, I saw a bean sticking out of the soft, warm sand. “ I’ve got it! I’ve got it!” yelled a girl running for the orange bean. ‘ There’s no time to wait!’ I thought. I quickly dived for the bean. Seven beans! I had won!

"At O.L.A on Wednesday we had an eco fun day, our favourite  activity was the bee and spoon challenge. We had to collect pieces of paper (flowers) for honey. If the parents were there it would be even more fun."
